2024 Off To A Good Start!

Winter fly fishing on the Deerfield River has been nothing short of phenomenal for lack of better of words! The upper 1o miles of river has been consistently fishing the majority of days. Streamers and nymphing have both been working. Average water temperature has been around 38-39 degrees, but we recently recevied an ample amount of rain and snow melt so I expect the water temperatures to drop a little this week especially with the predicted cold weather week. Drift boat fishing on the Deerfield remains more productive over wade fishing as the fish are definitely seeking areas where water temps are more consistent. Thus the bigger pools and runs are consistently more productive. But there are still many stretches of pocket water and deep banks on the Deerfield River that are still holding fish, especially larger browns!
